Paddy Matthews

Paddy Matthews is the Managing Director of Matthews Coach Hire.

Paddy founded the company in 1995, when he and his wife Mary purchased a small minibus with the primary purpose of transporting their six children and foster children.

They grew the company steadily into a modern and innovative commuter, tours and corporate service operator.

Matthews have received numerous awards for their ground breaking work in the areas of management, safety and energy conservation.

Matthews Coach Hire are recognised as being leaders in the coach transport industry in Ireland.
They were the only transport company in the state to have secured a contract at the London Olympics, where they sent 15 coaches and 30 drivers.

They are the only transport company in Ireland to have alcolocks installed – and every Matthews coach and support vehicle carries one of the devices.

The company have been recognised nationally as exemplars of best practice in energy management, most recently when they scooped their second Energy Awareness title in four years at the SEAI Sustainable Energy Awards 2012.

They recently became the first public transport company in the UK or Ireland – and only the second in the world – to achieve the new ISO 50001 energy management accreditation.
At the heart of this family-run company is the ethos that the customer experience is paramount.
